Use a Clear coat/ Top coat over your nails once done. = )
Here is a good article on doing your nailsHow do you get your nail polish to stay on longer and not chip?
Use rubbing alcohol or polish remover to remove any oils on the nails before applying the base coat. My favorite base coat is called Gooey by Nails Alive. You can find it at a beauty supply. Apply the base coat with two coats of polish (but not thick coats). And top with a top coat.
Below are two sites that sell Gooey. How do you get your nail polish to stay on longer and not chip?
1. Shape and scuff your nails with a good buffing block; clean them by washing them or rubbing the nail with a cotton ball soaked in acetone.
2. Basecoat (1 coat)
3. Color (2 coats)..allow to dry for about 5 minutes
4. Topcoat (1 coat)
Allow to dry thoroughly. Repaint with topcoat every other day. Do not use your nails as ';tools';. Wear gloves when you garden or anytime your hands will be wet (except in the shower). If you are very careful, you can get your polish to last a week and a half or so.
Well, the nail has its natural grease and that's why the nail polish falls. I suggest you buy a grease-remover(it's like a pen) or go to a manicurist, they always remove nail's grease, thus the polish lasts longer
dry nails under cool air by using either a hairdryer on ';cool'; setting or a professional nail dryer for at least 5 minutes also apply a top coat and bottom coat of good quality clear nail polish
i wish i knew! i've tried everything and the damn stuff still chips off within a day or two!
I recently tried Revlon Colorstay nailpolish. It comes with a nailpolish color and a clear topcoat to put on after. It says that it's guaranteed to stay on for 10 days without chipping... I had it on for about a week without chipping before I decided to just take it off... I think it probably would have stayed on for the full ten days if I had left it though. The only thing is, there aren't that many colors, only about 12, but there's a few that I really like!
