Nail polish remover cleaning violin strings?

is that okay? does it make it clean or worse? will it make the sound better? does it harm anything? should i do that? please tell me. :] thank you! all answers appreciated. [[except jokes]]Nail polish remover cleaning violin strings?

Don't use nailpolish anywhere near the violin!!! It'll strip the wood, and is not intended for violin strings.





You can use (if you must) rubbing alcohol, but only a tiny, tiny amount, and only if you put several layers of clean, dry cloth between the strings and the wood of the fingerboard and violin. Careful!!Nail polish remover cleaning violin strings?
